Sycamore Hospital

The idea of a medical centre was born by Dr. Tawiah Siameh whilst a medical student at University of Ghana Medical School, Legon. Realizing that most doctors retire into private practice at an older age, he envisioned a situation where this process is started early whilst he is still very young, energetic and full of ideas.

Upon his transfer to the Western Region to work at Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital after his housemanship at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, he and his wife, Mrs.Felicia Siameh fervently started searching for a land to begin the project.

The first phase of the project started very soon on the 8thOctober, 1998 and then operations started on Out-Patient basis on the 18th November, 2006.

The second phase of the project which is a 4-storey structure started in early 2007. This was designed to be state-of-the-art facility with ultra-modern very sophisticated laboratory, operating theatre and admitting wards.

The centre was however, officially inaugurated on August 31, 2014. The Hospital is one of the few hospitals accredited by Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) to undertake international medical examination for offshore workers worldwide aside the primary healthcare and the major and minor surgical operations.
